Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 29, 2026
PDF Summary ("the app") is a mobile application that analyzes PDF and text documents using AI and generates structured reports. This policy explains what data the app accesses and how it is handled.
The short version
PDF Summary has no server. Your documents and API keys never leave your device except to go directly to the AI provider you choose (Google Gemini or Anthropic Claude). We collect nothing.
Data the app accesses
- Documents you select. When you pick files using the system file picker, the app reads them into memory to prepare them for analysis. Files are not uploaded to any server operated by PDF Summary.
- Your API key. The app stores your AI provider API key locally on your device using encrypted device storage (AsyncStorage). The key is sent only to the provider you selected (Google or Anthropic) as part of API requests.
Third-party services
When you tap "Scan," your documents are sent directly from your device to the AI provider you configured:
- Google Gemini API — governed by Google's Privacy Policy
- Anthropic Claude API — governed by Anthropic's Privacy Policy
PDF Summary does not act as an intermediary. Your device communicates directly with these APIs.
Data we collect

Data we share

Cookies and tracking
The app does not use cookies, advertising identifiers, fingerprinting, or any form of tracking. The website (pdfsummary.app) does not use cookies or analytics.
Children's privacy
